Orton Academy adheres to the State of Colorado and Federal guidelines definition for a 504 plan. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination based on disability in any program or activity operated by recipients of federal funds. A 504 plan is developed to ensure a student who has an identified disability that impacts a major life activity has equal access to the general educational environment with the use of appropriate accommodations.
