Lexia: Focused, Comprehensive, and Confident Literacy Learning
Orton is excited to announce that we now have the Lexia learning platform for our students. Lexia helps students develop skills in reading, writing, and speaking. Lexia is based on the science of reading and provides individualized supports for students at their level.
Unfortunately the student password cards were passed out prior to having Lexia in place, however, we tried to keep it simple. The student username and password for Lexia is the same as the username and password for Zearn.
To sign in to Lexia, please go to www.lexiacore5.com. The first time you use a device to log in, it will ask for your teacher’s email. Enter ckanuch@ortonk8.org and it will take you to the screen to enter your student’s username and password.
Lexia is intended to supplement, not replace the reading instruction students receive in class and in therapy, or lessen the importance of the dyslexia therapy homework. Lexia is designed so students may practice concepts at their own pace. If the student struggles, Lexia will provide additional supports such as scaffolding and teaching. Teachers receive reports indicating the rate of success on each concept. For this reason, as difficult as it may be, please refrain from helping your student - it will skew the support they get from the program.
