It is a genuine honor to welcome you to Orton Academy! My name is Andrea Shipley; I was previously the assistant principal of the school, and I have a background teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Colorado Springs.

I am proud to be part of a team dedicated to providing a learning environment where students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent profiles can acquire the tools and strategies they need to achieve academic and social milestones. As a learner with dyslexia and ADHD myself, I understand our students' struggles and the remarkable progress they can make. Each student who enters Orton Academy will be supported and challenged as an individual learner through a supportive instructional model based on the science of reading. We believe that partnerships between home, community, and school are essential to making this possible.

Orton Academy is a free public charter school authorized by Colorado Springs District 11, serving all students with significant reading achievement gaps throughout the Pikes Peak region and beyond.

Orton Academy was established through a decade-long commitment to support individuals with learning difficulties.
